Secondary School
Discover who you are and what you are capable of.
The years that shape everything.
Secondary School at TAS is where a student's education becomes truly their own. From Year 7 through to Year 12, students are supported to grow academically, develop as individuals and discover the passions, strengths and values that will carry them through everything that comes next. It is a journey of six years, but the person who walks across the graduation stage is shaped by every single one of them.
At TAS, we believe that Secondary School should prepare students for life, not just exams. That means developing confident, curious, resilient young people who know who they are, think critically about the world around them and graduate with the character and capability to make their mark on it.

Our program develops the skills, knowledge and dispositions students need not just to succeed academically, but to adapt and thrive in whatever future they choose.

Character education
The most important thing we teach is who to be.
Character education does not stop at the Secondary School gate. If anything, the years from Year 7 to Year 12 are where it matters most. Our values of compassion, integrity, curiosity and perseverance are lived every day across the Secondary campus, in the way students treat each other, in the way they are treated by their teachers and in the experiences they are sent on. The 18-day Year 9 Outdoor Education expedition, Round Square conferences, Beyond Borders expeditions and service learning projects are all part of the same story: a school committed to shaping young people of genuine character.
At TAS, we also believe that mistakes are opportunities for growth. Our Character Reflection Sessions replace traditional detention, giving students a structured space to reflect on their choices, understand the impact of their actions, take responsibility and make positive change. It is an approach grounded in the belief that how a school responds to difficulty says as much about its values as anything else it does.

Wellbeing and pastoral care
Learning is only part of the story.
At TAS, student wellbeing is central to school life. We believe students thrive when they feel known, safe, supported and valued. Our wellbeing framework is proactive, relational and intentionally designed to evolve as students progress through the school, moving from structured guidance in the junior years towards increasing independence, responsibility and self-management in the senior years.
Every student belongs to a homeroom group that provides a consistent point of connection and care. Our school counsellors and chaplain are accessible, trusted members of the community. And our staff know their students, not just as learners, but as people. Through structured programs, meaningful experiences and reflective practices, students are supported not only in their wellbeing, but in becoming capable, confident and contributing members of the community.

Our Anglican identity
Values lived, not prescribed.
As an Anglican school, our identity underpins the way we care for and support students. This is not expressed through instruction or expectation of belief, but through the lived experience of the school community. Students engage with our values through their daily interactions, relationships and shared experiences. Chapel, key moments in the Christian calendar and times of reflection provide space for students to consider meaning, purpose and belonging in a supportive and inclusive environment. Students come to understand our values through participation and experience, rather than being told what to believe.
Co-curricular and enrichment
There is something here for everyone.
TAS Secondary students have access to one of the most extensive co-curricular programs in the region. From academic extension and debating to sport clubs, ensembles, eSports and service programs, there is no shortage of ways to pursue a passion, discover a new interest or develop a skill that sits outside the regular curriculum.

The graduate
Ready for what comes next. And everything after that.
The TAS graduate is someone who has been academically prepared, personally grounded and given every opportunity to discover who they are. They leave with strong results, a clear sense of their pathway and the character to navigate whatever comes next with confidence and integrity. That is the promise of a TAS Secondary education.
