Meet our Board

Trent Twomey and his wife are both pharmacists and owners of the Alive Pharmacy Warehouse group. Trent has been involved with the Pharmacy Guild of Australia for over ten years, and today holds the role of National President, having played a role in the negotiating team for the Sixth and Seventh Community Pharmacy Agreements.

Trent is the immediate Past Chairman and is a current Director of Advance Cairns, the peak economic development and advocacy organisation for Tropical North Queensland. He is also a Professor at James Cook University’s School of Medicine and Dentistry. He is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Pharmacy, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Managers and Leaders.

Trent’s children are currently attending TAS and he is fully entrenched in the community.

Jodi is a founder and Managing Director of business consultancy, The 20/20 Group.   She is a trusted advisor to businesses and Boards providing advice on business management and governance issues.

In addition to having previously worked in senior executive roles, Jodi has 30 years’ experience as Chair and Board member of several well-known not-for-profit Boards.  She has extensive knowledge and experience in governance, strategic planning, executive reporting, finance, performance and risk management.

Jodi is the Deputy Chair of the Board of Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.  She is the Deputy Chair of the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation and presently acts as an Independent Chair of the Board of a large Queensland wide building company.

Jodi has had a close association with TAS since 2002 and has previously served on the Board for a term of four years.  She currently has two children attending the school and two children who are TAS graduates and Trinitarians.

Greg Gilboy is a Director of the local award-winning business Gilboy Hydraulic Solutions. He works closely with various levels of government authorities, design architects, engineers and private clients, and was a finalist in the Australian Institute of Management’s ‘Manager of the Year’ Awards.

As the partner of a company developed during the Global Financial Crisis (GFC), Greg holds excellent practical experience in cost management strategies, which he brings to the School Board.

In more recent years, Greg has contributed greatly to the Cairns Hockey Association (CHA) as a Board Director in the Association’s Vision 5000 Masterplan, and as a member of the Australian Hockey Masters Committee in charge of Facilities for the 2016 Australian Masters Championship held in Cairns. Greg’s daughter has been at TAS since Kindergarten and is en route to becoming a Trinitarian.

BCom, CA

Chris is a Chartered Accountant with 25 years experience delivering audit and related services to a diverse portfolio of clients across the globe.

Formerly a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Chris worked in the firm’s Sydney, Perth and London offices before most recently leading PwC’s Assurance practice in PNG. He brings to the TAS Board extensive experience advising management and Boards of large corporates in areas such as accounting & audit, financial analysis, risk management and corporate governance.

Throughout his career Chris has taken an active role in the recruitment and professional skill development of future leaders. As parents, Chris and his wife are passionate about the benefits of high quality education.

Ben Meredith is a Special Counsel at Preston Law, Cairns’ largest law firm. Ben has extensive experience across a wide range of commercial disputes as an advisor and advocate. He regularly advises clients in respect to complex issues before the Queensland Supreme and District Courts and the Federal Court.

Ben is also a sessional lecturer at JCU in Civil Procedure and a firm advocate for the empowerment that education brings.

B Sc, Dip Ed, B Ed, M Ed

Jenene began her teaching career as a science teacher in a state high school in Queensland in 1984. Her experience as a teacher and Head of Department, Science has included working in schools in the independent, Catholic and state systems across Queensland and NSW. In 1991 Jenene began supporting the professional learning of other science teachers as the science consultant for AISNSW.

In 1997 Jenene began work as a curriculum developer on a new Science curriculum for Queensland and in 1998 she joined Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ) to support teachers across independent schools with their curriculum planning. Jenene continued in that role providing professional support to teachers, curriculum leaders and principals until mid 2023. During that time, Jenene was also active at the state and national level representing all independent schools across Australia on the ACARA Australian Curriculum F – 12 Curriculum Reference Group (CRG).

Jenene now works at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) as a Senior Research Fellow and is the technical lead on the curriculum development stream of a project to create a new curriculum for the United Arab Emirates. Jenene is also Secretary / Treasurer and Conference Convenor for the Australian Curriculum Studies Association (ACSA). Jenene lives on the Gold Coast but continues to support a thriving independent schools sector.

MBA

Kathy Romano has been associated with Anglican Schools for many years. She holds a Master’s in Business Administration and previous to TAS, Kathy was employed by The Cathedral School in Townsville where she was the Business Manager for eleven and a half years.

Kathy was seconded to Trinity Anglican School in 2019 for a six-month long service leave placement. After developing a connection with the school, she returned again in June 2020 as the Head of Business Services. She was a significant force in driving the implementation of our new business plan and building developments in this time. Kathy is held in very high regard by the TAS community and is well known as a very successful project manager and strategic leader, amongst other skills. She retired from TAS in June 2024.

Kathy is the Deputy Chairperson of the Anglicare North Queensland Board of Directors. After a six month break from TAS, she has joined the Trinity Anglican School Board of Directors and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding independent schools in North Queensland.

Archdeacon Christopher is the Anglican Parish Priest at St Saviour’s, Kuranda, with responsibility for St Peter’s Kewarra Beach, St George’s Mareeba, Christ Church Cooktown, Dimbulah and Chillagoe.

Christopher is the Archdeacon of the Anglican Diocese of North Queensland and is the Bishop’s Commissary. The Archdeacon is a Member of the Australasian Committee of St George’s College Jerusalem.
